The WebSpace Platform includes a powerful Action Item Manager component designed to help manage activities across a geographically dispersed project team including suppliers, partners and/or offsite employees. Well beyond simple tasking, WebSpace Action Items are an ideal way to systematically collect and approve documents and other electronic deliverables related to a project, event or other activity.
The Action Item Manager is fully integrated with the WebSpace platform's core functionality. As such, Action Items may include custom attributes and an unlimited number of reference attachments. All deliverables uploaded to open Action Items by assignees are captured in the centralized WebSpace document repository. Easy to read, color-coded progress indicators and a powerful report builder keep project managers and executives in the loop at all times. Better yet, WebSpace can be safely accessed from any PC with a Web connection — no VPN Intranet access required.
Action Items may be organized into a hierarchical structure of "nested" Action Items, with sub-items rolling up to parent activities. This is an ideal way to organize a "phase-gate" project structure where the Action Items specific to a certain phase must be completed prior to the start of a new phase. If such a hierarchy already exists in Microsoft Project or Excel, it may be imported to reduce data entry time.
Any WebSpace Action Item list or hierarchy may be saved as a standard template for later re-use (including default start dates, offsets, durations, any custom attributes and all reference attachments). These templates may also include default assignees (and optionally any approvers or workflow process required to officially close each Action Item).
If you manage complex projects, especially those with remote participants — WebSpace will expedite project completion, helping you identify issues and bottlenecks before they jeopardize project success.
