Textron Fastening Systems Selects NexPrise to Automate its Quote Management Process

NexPrise, Inc. (Nasdaq: OTC BB: NXPS.OB ) today announced that Textron Fastening Systems (TFS), a business unit of Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT), has engaged NexPrise to develop and deploy a Quote Manager Application as the foundation for streamlining and standardizing its customer response activities in North America. Their goals are to streamline costing and quote management by automating these processes to shorten cycle time, improve efficiencies and cut costs. Next, the process will be implemented in Europe and Asia.

During its period of rapid growth in the late 1990s, TFS acquired multiple fastening businesses with their own cost estimating and quote management processes. In some cases, this meant that completing RFQs required augmenting systematic efforts with manual quote processing and coordination. By leveraging NexPrise's Web-based application, TFS will automate, streamline and migrate its multiple quote processes and infrastructure to one standard. This will facilitate closer collaboration between its production facilities and supply chain partners, saving significant time and effort in the RFQ process.
